Before getting started, identify the best route for submitting for brand approval.
Working with a Meta point of contact
For approval of your materials or if you have any questions, reach out to the Meta point of contact you’re working with. Your Meta point of contact will obtain brand approval on your behalf through internal Brand Review for a faster approval. Meta employees should not submit requests through the Brand Resource Center.
Third parties without a Meta contact
If you are not working with a Meta point of contact, our team will still be able to review and approve requests through the Brand Resource Center. Please continue below to review best practices for submitting requests through the Brand Resource Center for review.
What should be submitted for review
Please submit for permission to use brand assets in any of the following in a professional or commercial capacity:
All other forms of marketing do not require permission but must use the officially provided assets and abide by the guidelines on this site.
How to submit a request
To ensure consistency and protect the integrity of our brands, we’ve put together tips to help you prepare your request for review.
Request requirements
Please provide as much context as possible and make sure you have the following information readily available to process your request:
What is never permitted
Using brand assets on merchandise
Requests to feature our logos on physical items aren’t permitted. Meta does not permit or license its trademarks, logos or other intellectual property to be used on merchandise or other products such as clothing, hats or mugs. Please do not submit a request asking for permission to do any of these things.
Showing our technologies in a negative light
We will not approve any submission requests that show our logos or technologies being used in connection with drugs, adult or explicit content, violence, illegal activities, armed weapons or hate speech. You may also not show Meta technologies being used in ways that violate our terms of service.
What does not need to be submitted for review
Advertising your social handle
Third party requests to use the Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp or Threads logo or symbols to mention username handles in marketing materials do not need to be reviewed. This includes brochures, posters or signs.
If you would like to use another person’s social media handle or display their account in advertising or film, please work with them directly to secure approval.
Advertising on Meta technologies
Advertising appearing on Meta technologies will be reviewed by our Ad Policy team and does not require brand permission here. For more details, visit Meta’s Advertising Policies.
