⚠️ One of the 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗩 design is how to keep high-voltage connections 𝙙𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚, 𝙘𝙤𝙨𝙩-𝙚𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚. Take busbars, the solid metal conductors that connect EV batteries and charging systems. They’re more compact and reliable than cables, but they require protective coatings to prevent oxidation and ensure long-term performance. Traditionally, that coating comes from chemical plating baths — a costly and environmentally intensive process. Our Intercable Automotive Solutions team asked a different question: 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙛 𝙬𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙮 𝙘𝙤𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧? By developing a spot coating process that applies protective material only where it’s needed, they’ve achieved: ✅ Up to 80% cost savings for customers ✅ Faster production with shorter lead times ✅ Strong environmental benefits by eliminating chemical baths and water use ✅ Performance that matches, and in some cases exceeds, traditional methods 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗩 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗯𝗮𝗿𝘀, and it’s another example of Aptiv innovation helping OEMs deliver vehicles that are safer and more resilient. 💡 Curious to see how it works?
