Cybersecurity – Let’s collaborate   🌐 Cyberattacks don't recognize borders. For this reason, our experts from all over the world across different disciplines and industries came together for three days to discuss how TÜV SÜD can collaborate with its partners and meet its customers’ needs.   🔝 Tone from the top On day one, Ishan Palit, TÜV SÜD’s Interim CEO and Member of the Board of Management, highlighted that our core mission is to create trust in technology. Cybersecurity plays a significant role in achieving this. Our aim is to help our customers demonstrate that they have taken every possible step to prevent cyberattacks.   🌏 In his keynote, Dr. Timo Gerrit Blenk (CEO, Agora Strategy) provided a glimpse of the current geopolitical dynamics and how global corporations can navigate the increasing uncertainty and risks posed by cyberattacks, supply chain disruptions, and tariffs. The first panel discussion focused gave a pretty good idea on the geopolitical developments and their impact on businesses worldwide and set the scene for a thought-provoking exchange between. Detlef Houdeau (Senior Business Development, Infineon Technologies), Robert Kees (CEO Division Business Assurance, TÜV SÜD AG), Natalia Oropeza (Global Chief Cybersecurity Officer, Siemens AG) and Ralf Schneider (Senior Fellow and Head of Cybersecurity and NextGenIT Think Tank, Allianz SE), moderated by Sudhir Ethiraj (Global Head of the Cybersecurity Office & CEO BU CSS, TÜV SÜD). The panelists came to the conclusion that we need to work together on cybersecurity, both internally and outside our company and with other companies too. 🛡️ At a manufacturing plant, a routine infrared thermography inspection identified a severe electrical hazard: ➡️ B-phase line side bus bar to bushing connection ➡️ +582°C above baseline ➡️ Maximum temperature: 688°C ➡️ 4-star critical severity rating 📊 It posed a high risk of total switchgear loss, property damage exceeding $1 million, and over 120 days of business interruption. ✅ It prompted immediate action like an emergency shutdown and de-energizing the switchgear to allow safe access; and replacement of faulty components + ensuring all connections were tightened to the correct torque specifications. 👉 Read the full case study: https://lnkd.in/dzs5wEh6

(KOR below) We’re excited to announce that TÜV SÜD Korea has signed an investment agreement with the Gyeonggi Free Economic Zone Authority (GGFEZ) to establish a large-scale battery testing laboratory for EVs and ESS in Pyeongtaek Poseung BIX District, Korea. ⚡🔋 The signing ceremony took place at TÜV SÜD Headquarters in Munich, Germany, attended by Wolfgang Huebl, CEO of TÜV SÜD Product Service GmbH, Jung (Jung-Wook) Seo, TÜV SÜD Korea Representative Director, and Mr. Neung Sik, Kim, Commissioner of #GGFEZ Through this investment, TÜV SÜD Korea will establish new battery testing facilities, scheduled to complete in late 2026. The new lab will provide comprehensive testing services including performance, safety or reliability evaluations for large-format EV and ESS batteries. (KOR follows) 🌍 TÜV SÜD Korea Launches New Training Programs on “SBTi” and “UN-R21 Vehicle Safety Regulation” TÜV SÜD Korea will officially launch two new training programs this November to support companies in preparing for Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) approval and strengthening their compliance capabilities with European vehicle safety regulation UN-R21 (Interior Fittings). The new programs have been developed to help domestic companies proactively respond to rapidly evolving global climate regulations and automotive safety standards, aligning their practices with international requirements. Leveraging TÜV SÜD’s global network and long-standing verification expertise, TÜV SÜD Korea continues to expand its specialized training portfolio that strengthens both ESG operational competence and product safety assurance. Recent updates such as the publication of ISO 14068-1 (Carbon Neutrality Verification Standard) and the revision of SBTi Version 2.0 have been reflected to ensure relevance and practical value for industry professionals. Building on these initiatives, TÜV SÜD Korea plans to introduce additional industry-specific programs across manufacturing, chemical, electronics, and logistics sectors, along with advanced courses focusing on SBTi verification readiness and carbon-neutrality expertise development.
