Marketing API: New features, formats and optimizations added to the Partnership Ads API

As part of our commitment to improve creator monetization flows, we're excited to share several new features and enhancements that will improve the partnership ads API.

What This Means for Developers

These updates are designed to provide developers with more efficient and effective tools to create and manage partnership ads via API. By leveraging these new features, you can:

  • Streamline creator monetization flows
  • Increase flexibility and control over partnership ad header format
  • Reduce developer friction

New Partnership Ad API Features:

  • Recommended creator content
    • This new feature surfaces AI-enabled organic creator content and recommends approved branded content that we predict will perform best in partnership ads. Developer documentation available here.
  • Partnership ads with one partner format + dynamic identity optimization
    • With this format, businesses can now feature one partner in the ads header. This means businesses can feature the partner only rather than previously having to feature the partner + business, while taking advantage of the signals of both partners.
    • This partnership ads optimization dynamically selects whether to feature one or both partners in the ads header, depending on which will perform best for the campaign objectives. Developer documentation available here.
  • Uploading an Instagram video to Facebook ad library using ad code
    • We’ve improved the workflow to allow existing Instagram video to be directly uploaded to Facebook using the Instagram Partnership Ad Code (in replacement of source file information).
    • For partnership ads, partners must pass existing data that is currently required, using the endpoint {ad-account-id}/advideos. Developer documentation available here.

Instagram Content Publishing API updates:

  • Creators can now publish to Instagram Stories through the Content Publishing API. The publishing rate limit has also been expanded to enable businesses and creators to post up to 100 posts per day across feed, stories, and reel via API. Developer documentation can be found here.
