2015-03-22tcp.7: Document removal of TCP_SYNQ_HSIZEPeter Adkins1-3/+7
Looking over the man page for 'tcp' I came across a reference to tuning the 'TCP_SYNQ_HSIZE' parameter when increasing 'tcp_max_syn_backlog' above 1024. However, this static sizing was removed back in Linux 2.6.20 in favor of dynamic scaling - as part of commit 72a3effaf633bcae9034b7e176bdbd78d64a71db. I have included a patch below with reference to this commit, and that the process detailed is not required on >= Linux 2.6.20. Signed-off-by: Michael Kerrisk <mtk.manpages@gmail.com>

2012-04-23tcp.7: Correct description for TCP_MAXSEG on modern kernellepton1-2/+3
In tcp.7, about TCP_MAXSEG, it reads If this option is set before connection establishment, it also changes the MSS value announced to the other end in the initial packet. It is correct for kernel version 2.2, but it is not correct for modern kernel such as 2.4 and 2.6. On a linux box with a modern kernel, the setting for TCP_MAXSEG won't change the MSS value announced to the other end. Signed-off-by: Michael Kerrisk <mtk.manpages@gmail.com>
