I'm using the Google Maps API (Places Library) autocomple in a form.
If there is any error e.g. wrong API Key, no domain whitelisting or the quota limit is reached google through a exception. In some cases the API even disable the input and inserts an Icon.

Is there a way to catch all kind of exception? A try/catch block didn't work.

My goal is, even if there es an error with the API the form should be working as usual, just without the autocompletion.

To reproduce this problem just try the example code from google with a fake API-Key which is defined in the script source:

The developers documentation says:

If you want to programmatically detect an authentication failure (for example to automatically send an beacon) you can prepare a callback function. If the following global function is defined it will be called when the authentication fails. function gm_authFailure() { /* Code */ };

This doesn't work for all errors. For example, quota exceeded errors will not execute this function.
