⚠️ Important Industry Update: Rooflighting Safety Bulletin 2025/1 The Rooflight Association, together with the NFRC and ACR, has released new guidance in response to rising concerns over the use of permanently fixed rooflight covers and framed wire mesh systems. While this doesn’t affect our range of commercial rooflights - which are always specified to the correct glass standards - it’s important information for roofing contractors and installers to be aware. 🔹 These permanent systems are not safety-regulated and can reduce rooflight performance, invalidate warranties, and increase energy use. 🔹 The The Rooflight Association does not support their use. 🔹 Instead, use temporary safety systems during works or replace older rooflights with correctly specified, non-fragile units. Meet Luke Russell, our Warehouse and Workshop Coordinator! Luke joined Whitesales four years ago after a career change from the aviation industry. When the pandemic hit in 2020, Luke was made redundant - but he quickly found his feet in warehousing. Starting out in our carrier despatch area, Luke’s drive and dedication have seen him progress rapidly. Today, he manages the day-to-day running of the warehouse and workshop, oversees logistics, and ensures that customer orders are delivered on time, every time. For Luke, the best part of his role is simple: putting customers first. But without the right design and manufacturing, they can also become a source of heat loss. That’s where U-values come in. Choosing rooflights with low U-values ensures buildings stay energy efficient while meeting stringent building regulations.
