Every technology shift reshapes the enterprise security landscape. Today, that shift is happening in plain sight: inside the browser.

As work moves further into SaaS, web, and AI-powered applications, the browser has quietly become the new enterprise endpoint. It’s where decisions are made, data is accessed, and productivity happens. It’s also where traditional security controls begin to fade, because users are increasingly beyond the reach of managed devices, VPNs, or perimeter-based tools.

At Citrix, our heritage is helping organizations deliver secure access to applications. And today, I’m proud to share our next step forward on Citrix Secure Access with Chrome Enterprise — a deep integration between Citrix Secure Private Access and Google Chrome Enterprise Premium.

A new layer of defense, at the point of interaction

This integration enables Citrix’s Zero Trust enforcement capabilities within the Chrome Enterprise Premium browser. When paired with Citrix Secure Private Access and its app delivery platform, we can now extend the Citrix trust boundary from the browser to the internal corporate applications. There are no agents needed to install—just the Chrome browser. We’re securing the last mile of access the very moment the user interacts with sensitive corporate data.

Irrespective of whether the web app is inside the corporate network or accessible as a SaaS service on the public internet, users can access them seamlessly, without anything more than Chrome Enterprise Premium. Policies are no longer dependent on infrastructure, agents, or even the device. Whether a user is working on a personal laptop, shifting between corporate and personal identities, or pasting sensitive prompts into an AI agent, organizations now have real-time control.

This includes:

  • Native DLP to prevent unauthorized uploads, downloads, or copy/paste
  • Threat protection powered by Google Safe Browsing
  • Identity-aware access and session-level isolation
  • Governance over browser extensions and third-party interactions

This is not security added around the browser. It’s security within it.

Why this matters

The enterprise threat landscape doesn’t start and end at login. It lives in the in-between moments – the copy into an AI agent, the personal email tab opened during a session, the unsanctioned app quietly connected in the background. These aren’t outliers. They are the reality of work today.

And this reality can’t be governed by traditional tools alone. That’s why we believe the browser must evolve from a passive interface to an intelligent control point, aware of who the user is, what device they’re on, and what data they’re handling.

A shared vision with Google

We partnered with Google not just because Chrome is the world’s most widely used browser, but because we share a fundamental belief: security should be native, invisible, and fast.

Chrome Enterprise Premium offers deep integration with the browser engine, faster protection against zero-day exploits, and built-in enforcement capabilities. Combined with Citrix Secure Private Access, we’re enabling a security posture that’s responsive, scalable, and frictionless.

And we’re doing it without requiring users to switch browsers or break workflows. That’s a critical distinction in a world where experience and security can no longer be trade-offs.

What comes next

This launch reflects more than a technical milestone; it signals the beginning of a new model for enterprise access. We’re moving toward a world where secure access is dynamic, identity-aware, and delivered at the point of interaction. A world where you don’t need to own the device to protect the data. Where policy travels with the user, not just the endpoint.

With Citrix Secure Access and Chrome Enterprise Premium, we’re bringing that world within reach. For a more technical drilldown into the solution and how it works, please take a look at this overview video.

This integration is available now in the latest build of Google Chrome. Citrix customers licensed with the Citrix Platform License already have access to Citrix Secure Access with Chrome Enterprise, including this integration.
