This Veteran’s Day, our Compassus hospice team in DeKalb, IL, had the privilege of celebrating and honoring resident veterans at Aperion Care DeKalb. Compassus Hospice Care Coordinator Regie Peterson, Hospice Care Coordinator Kevin McGee, Director of Clinical Services Katherine Scott, Area Director of Clinical Operations and Market Executive Ann Ovsak and Bereavement Coordinator Joseph Agnello presented veterans John Debates Jr., Larry Gowin, Stanley Croom and Robert Andrew with gifts of appreciation. It was a heartfelt moment of recognition, gratitude and remembrance. We were proud to stand alongside our local veterans and thank them for their service. Congratulations to Jennifer Booker-Boyd on her promotion to Assistant Administrator! 👏 Since joining Alta Rehab at Fairmont seven years ago, Jennifer has consistently shown leadership, dedication and teamwork. With 26 years of long-term care experience across various departments, including 16 years in Social Services, she has always prioritized connection, making sure every resident and family felt supported and in good hands. Jennifer's time as a Social Worker left a lasting impact on everyone at the facility. Now, as Assistant Administrator, she works closely with our Administrator to oversee and guide daily operations. Crdl has arrived at Aperion Care! 🎵 ✨ Crdl is a musical care instrument that turns touch into sound, giving people—especially those who have difficulty with verbal communication or cognition—an equal chance to express themselves. Designed to break social isolation and foster connection, Crdl allows individuals to place their hands on the wooden instrument and each other, creating unique sounds with every touch. This interaction encourages engagement and releases oxytocin, the “cuddle hormone,” leaving everyone feeling close and comfortable. In October, we wear pink! 💖 This month, we showed our support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month by standing with survivors, remembering those we’ve lost and raising awareness for early detection.

Our leadership team was proud to attend the AHCA/NCAL Delivering Solutions 2025 Convention, where we celebrated the outstanding achievements across Aperion Care.
