Check out the highlights from an event that was held at St. Joseph's Hospital to celebrate progress of the BayCare Proton Center. Attendees heard from guest speakers and patients and were even offered a behind-the-scenes look at the construction progress. This milestone brings us one step closer to offering proton therapy to our community. We look forward to treating our first patients next year.

We appreciated the opportunity to support our partners in fighting food insecurity, Feeding Tampa Bay and St. Petersburg Free Clinic, this past week during the interruption of SNAP/WIC benefits by hosting two community food drives at our BayCare Health System Office. 💙

Awesome news! The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit organization that promotes patient safety, announced its Fall 2025 Hospital Safety Grades today, and 11 of BayCare Health System’s acute-care hospitals received an “A,” the group’s highest rating, placing BayCare among the nation's best. Patient safety data for nearly 3,000 general hospitals was collected and analyzed to develop a composite score comprised of more than 30 national performance measures collected and reported publicly by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Leapfrog Hospital Survey and information gathered from other supplement data sources. It was a pleasure for BayCare Health System to host behavioral health leaders from across the country for the National Association for Behavioral Healthcare's annual leadership forum. Over an inspiring two days, attendees connected through engaging networking events, including a welcome dinner at ZooTampa at Lowry Park, insightful presentations, and guided tours of our BayCare Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center in Pasco County and the innovative med/psych unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital-North. “Conferences such as these give us an opportunity to exchange ideas, have frank discussions about the opportunities and headwinds we face as an industry, and work together to deliver care that meets the moment” said Gail Ryder, BayCare’s vice president of behavioral health services. “It’s inspiring to spend time with leaders who share our passion for providing high-quality behavioral health to our communities.” #BayCareProud

Stephanie Conners and other BayCare Health System leaders recently joined the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany to celebrate a partnership that has shaped BayCare for generations. Since 1931, when the sisters brought their healing ministry to Tampa with the founding of St. Joseph’s Hospital, their mission of caring for the medical, spiritual and emotional needs of all has flourished. Today, that spirit lives on in our six Catholic hospitals, where team members continue the Franciscan tradition - offering hope, compassion and care to everyone, regardless of faith.
