This year’s World Mental Health Day theme highlights the importance of having access to mental health services during emergencies and disasters. During tough times, like natural disasters, climate crises, or public health emergencies, mental health often gets pushed aside, even though it’s usually the first thing impacted. In fact, nearly one in three people affected by disasters may face serious mental health challenges. But remember, taking care of your mental health is important, especially when everything feels like it’s falling apart. Learn more about how #WMHD2025 is working to make mental health a universal human right at https://wmhdofficial.com/. #WorldMentalHealthDay #HealthyInclusion

Celebrate #ItalianAmericanHeritageMonth by recognizing Dr Monica Bertagnolli, a surgical oncologist, researcher, and granddaughter of Italian immigrants. In 2022, her diagnosis with early-stage breast cancer gave her a new perspective, deepening her understanding and strengthening her commitment to saving lives. She has served as Director of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and, most recently, as Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). At NCI, she played a key role in the Cancer Moonshot℠ Initiative, which aims to accelerate cancer research and move us closer to a cure.
