  • Congratulations to Patricia Willison, RN, on receiving a DAISY Award. Here is what a few patients and colleagues had to say about Patricia in her nomination: "Patricia is a real joy to work with. She is a very organized leader and completes her work in a thorough and timely manner. She is very effective with difficult clientele but establishes good rapport. She is very easy to work with and is always in a good mood. She makes the shift much easier when in charge. She brings a lot of knowledge to Bryan. She follows the Bryan Core Values and is very deserving of the DAISY Award." "Patricia is just ALWAYS so wonderful. She spreads kindness, joy, and laughter every time I see her. My favorite days in treatment is when she is working. She’s uplifting and always so helpful whether it be for things like meds/med questions or just a caring ear to listen to you vent. She deserves this award and much more!!" "When I think of Patricia, I think of so many amazing things, because she is all things amazing. One word that comes to mind is welcoming. She displays “one team, one purpose”, not sometimes, but every shift. She is an amazing teacher. She is full of empathy. We take care of vulnerable clients and Patricia “cares like crazy” and has SO MUCH EMPATHY. Thanks so much Patricia for everything you do, for patients and staff alike!" "This woman gives her all to her patients. She is 100% focused on meeting our emotional, medical, and mental needs. Her enthusiasm for this work is blatantly obvious and there is no doubt about how much she cares for and respects us. She treats me with dignity, which is something I haven’t felt in a long time before coming into treatment. Nurses like her make believing in ourselves again attainable." Thank you for being helpful and welcoming, Patricia! We are proud of you. The DAISY Award recognizes outstanding nurses at Bryan.

  • “We are thankful that nurse Adrienne Clark was on duty the day our daughter was admitted. She noticed some complications due to high blood pressure and was concerned for our daughter's unborn baby. She sprung into action and called an emergency C-section delivery. Her experience and actions likely saved the life of our daughter and her baby.” — Randy, Grateful Father Congratulations to Adrienne, Bryan Medical Center labor and delivery nurse, on this well-deserved recognition! • Congratulations to Liz Cabrera, Nurse Manager, on receiving the Daisy Nurse Leader Award. Here is what a team member had to say about Liz in their nomination: "Prior to starting in our unit, our unit was broken. We were extremely short staffed, and we didn’t have any leadership. Since Liz has started, she has been nothing short of amazing. She includes everyone the best that she can, listens to staff and advocates for us on every level. For me personally, she has been the best leader I have ever worked under. Her dedication to us as individuals and as a team is unwavering and speaks volumes to who she is as a person. Currently, our unit is going through hardships with one of our other beloved team members and Liz has been the biggest advocate and support for our team, pushing through her own pain to ensure that our team member is cared for as best she can. She has updated us as much as she can to keep us informed and included. It is rare to find an amazing leader that you want to stay and work under and because of that, I want to nominate her for this award. It does not even begin to describe my gratitude, but it’s a start." Thank you for being helpful and welcoming, Liz! We are proud of you. The Daisy Nurse Leader Award is an annual award that recognizes outstanding nurses in leadership at Bryan.

This year, she is one of the “Portraits of Hope” for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and wants to raise awareness and support. Watch her story.

  • The Bryan Foundation is grateful for these employees who were recently recognized by patients for exceptional breast imaging care. I quickly felt recognized, safe and appreciated.” — Cher B. Lisa Finke, MRI technologist “Lisa took care of me today during my breast MRI at April Sampson Cancer Center. • Congratulations to Matthew Glathar, MD for receiving the Care Like Crazy Award! A colleague shared these kind words about Matthew. "We came onto night shift with a very critical patient. Dr. Glathar not only came in from home, but waited at the hospital for almost 2 hours to discuss the patient’s care and prognosis with the family. He was extremely responsive to pages throughout the night and went above and beyond to make sure the family, patient and nurses were as comfortable with the plan of care as possible. Without his help, the nursing staff would have been left without support and a family would not have been able to have adequate closure with their loved one." Matthew, thank you for the care you provide daily to your patients. You make a difference in the lives of others. We are honored that you are part of the Bryan Medical Staff.
