💧 Emmy Anzalone of Verdantas' Eco Engineering team recently supported their client SacWaterForum, and was joined by the “Friends of Sailor Bar” volunteers, along with Cramer Fish Sciences scientists, to help remove manmade rock barriers at one of our Lower American River Salmonid Habitat Enhancement Program sites constructed in 2019. Clearing these obstructions benefits fall run Chinook salmon currently swimming upstream to spawn, and prevents juvenile stranding come spring when fry emerge from their redds in the gravel. This took a little elbow grease—and volunteers fueled by cinnamon rolls and classic rock hits. The positive results are evident by these before and after shots.
