At Hilton Universal, we believe in the power of community. As recent fires have impacted the Los Angeles area, our hearts go out to everyone affected. We are committed to supporting our neighbors and guests during this challenging time.
As the devastating impact of the Los Angeles County wildfires continues to unfold, all of us at Hilton are keeping those affected in our thoughts. All natural disasters take a toll on our communities and this one weighs particularly heavy as Los Angeles holds a special place in Hilton’s history. Beverly Hills served as our headquarters for 40 years, and today we have more than 80 hotels in the greater Los Angeles market. We have always been guided by our founder Conrad Hilton’s belief that hospitality can be a force for good in the world. And in moments of crisis, that vision becomes even more meaningful – and our responsibility to those we serve even more urgent. When the fires began, local hotels immediately came together to provide a safe haven for those who were displaced with toys for kids, treats for dogs, care packages for those who lost everything, and so much more. To our LA team, we are so grateful for all you are doing to care for our guests and each other. Today we are announcing a partnership with American Express to donate 20,000 room nights at no charge to impacted families across the greater Los Angeles area. Rooms will be distributed through local non-profit organization 211 LA to help ensure those who have been displaced have access to a safe place to stay. We are also supporting first responders in the Los Angeles area with contributions to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF). All of us at Hilton want to express our deepest appreciation for all the heroes who are working tirelessly to protect the communities affected.
