Through our patient-first approach, we’re working to eliminate cancer and save lives. In the Season 1 finale of The Red Couch on the Road, our EVP, Global Corporate Affairs, Vanessa Broadhurst, meets with a lung cancer survivor and patient advocate and Vice President of Global Medical Affairs Oncology at Johnson & Johnson to discuss how self-advocacy and collaboration can lead to better outcomes for patients with lung cancer. Watch the episode now: https://lnkd.in/gG9PyP8E
Behind every effective cancer treatment plan is a partnership—between a patient who knows their own body and a healthcare team that combines deep expertise with compassion. That spirit of collaboration was front and center during our final Red Couch on the Road conversation of Season 1, recorded in my hometown of Chicago at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO)’s 2025 Annual Congress. I was joined by lung cancer survivor and patient advocate Nichelle Brigham-Stigger, along with Mark Wildgust, Vice President of Global Medical Affairs Oncology at Johnson & Johnson, for a powerful discussion about self-advocacy and the breakthroughs reshaping lung cancer care. At Johnson & Johnson, we have a bold ambition to eliminate cancer. Every day, we push the boundaries of science to get ahead of this disease, advancing treatments and expanding access to new therapies for patients like Nichelle. Thank you, Nichelle, for sharing your story and showing what’s possible when patients, nurses, and doctors work as one team. That partnership is what will ultimately bring us closer to a world without cancer. Watch the full episode here: https://lnkd.in/emCNEqjH

When purpose drives innovation, technology can change lives. This is true for Arlene R. Atkin, a breast cancer survivor and leader here at J&J, who brings empathy and expertise to her work—developing digital solutions that are personal, precise and patient-centered. Hear about Arlene’s journey in the latest episode of the #HumansAdvancingTech series with our CIO Jim Swanson.
In this new #HumansAdvancingTech episode, I spoke with Arlene R. Atkin, a technology leader whose career has spanned nearly every corner of Johnson & Johnson. What makes Arlene’s story unforgettable is personal: she’s also a 28-year breast cancer survivor. That experience drives everything she does, at work and beyond. Not only does she help bring forward the digital solutions that enable personalized, precise medicine, she also leads Team J&J in the annual Susan G. Komen More Than Pink Walk, rallying colleagues around the mission to end breast cancer. Her story is a reminder that the technology we build is only as meaningful as the lives it touches. Watch her episode to connect with the why behind healthcare innovation. #TechForGood #JNJProud #BreastCancerAwareness
