See you in the neighborhood.

About us

Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn’t work together. So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions – to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality through Afterpay, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we’ve embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next-generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale. Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes – large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We’re building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business and helping sellers worldwide do the same. Square is part of Block, Inc. (NYSE: SQ), a global technology company with a focus on financial services.

It's been a crazy busy and exciting quarter. One of the things I'm most proud of is we showed up for our customers, and local businesses around the world, in a big way — in their communities, on their streets, and with tools to help them thrive. From coast-to-coast Walking Clubs to our first-ever Neighbor Days, we activated in neighborhoods across the country, driving real foot traffic to local sellers and creating memorable moments with the communities they serve. We paired that presence with sharpened go-to-market execution and expanded innovation — all helping sellers run and grow their businesses. This is what it means to be built for neighborhoods. This is Square in motion... and I can't wait for what's next. 🎥 Check out the Q3 highlight video below!

We’ve bet on the neighborhood since day 1 — and that’s not changing any time soon. In Q3, neighborhood favorites around the world reminded us what growth looks like when it’s rooted in community. See you in the neighborhood (and Q4).

At Block, we’ve held bitcoin on our balance sheet dating back to 2020. Now we’re helping millions of sellers do the same with Square, enabling them to accept bitcoin as payment and manage it directly on their balance sheets. What began as a learning exercise has become a part of our long-term treasury strategy rooted in transparency, open source, and financial innovation.
