“I joined the U.S. Navy at 18 and served for 9 years as an Operations Specialist on active duty. My service included a tour aboard the USS Ronald Reagan and time with the Navy Recruiting District in San Antonio. A significant experience for me was my work as an air controller during search-and-rescue missions following the 2011 tsunami in Japan. Witnessing the devastation and being able to provide hope to survivors profoundly impacted me. After my active duty, I transitioned to a Navy Recruiter role, assisting those interested in joining the military. I also continued my service in the Navy Reserves, where I still serve today. Nearly four years ago, I joined GALLO to help lead the on-site recruitment for our greenfield project in Chester County, SC. It’s been incredibly fulfilling to see this location transform and be part of GALLO’s East Coast Operations expansion. Outside of work, I’m a wife, mother, daughter, and sister. With kids who are always on the go, we stay busy!” – Myranda, Sr. Recruiter

"Before joining GALLO, I spent 22 years serving in the United States Air Force, where I built a career around mastering logistics. I was responsible for loading, unloading, and moving cargo and passengers by air, often to and from locations around the world. It was high-risk, fast-paced work that demanded attention to detail, teamwork, and adaptability. Every mission, no matter how big or small, was about making sure people and resources got where they needed to be, safely and on time. When it came time to transition out of the service, it was both exciting and overwhelming. I knew I had valuable experience, but translating those skills into the civilian world wasn’t always straightforward. I discovered GALLO through the Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program. The fellowship was an incredible experience. It gave me the chance to explore the corporate world while keeping the structure and support that veterans often miss after leaving the military. GALLO felt like the right fit from the start. The company’s culture of innovation, integrity, and teamwork reminded me so much of what I valued in the military. It has also allowed me to find a better work-life balance and spend more quality time with my family and friends. From day one, I felt welcome, supported, and challenged to continue developing professionally. Now, in my role as Team Leader at our Canandaigua Winery, I’ve been able to build on the skills I developed in uniform — organization, communication, and mission focus — while continuing to learn and grow in a new industry I’m genuinely proud to be part of. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities, and I’m grateful to work for a company that not only values its people but actively supports and empowers veterans to thrive in their next chapter." - Erik Blass, PMC, Sanitation Team Leader

Our Canandaigua Winegrowing Team linked up with the Cornell Grape Breeding Program to explore a promising new grape variety still in development. Together, we handpicked the fruit and split it into two fermentation styles, Rosé and deep red, to uncover the unique flavors and aromas this grape can offer. 🧪
