It all began in 1989, when Ralph Lauren learned that his friend and Washington Post fashion editor Nina Hyde had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Her story moved him deeply and inspired a lasting commitment to the fight against cancer. In 2000, Ralph Lauren brought cancer awareness to the forefront by debuting the Pink Pony T-shirt on the runway – an iconic symbol that continues to define our mission today. 25 years later, we celebrate the milestone anniversary of Pink Pony, the Company’s initiative dedicated to expanding access to quality cancer care and research in communities around the world. Our employees across the globe came together for more than 30 Pink Pony Walks, continuing our annual tradition of raising awareness and donations to benefit the Pink Pony Fund of The Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation and an international network of cancer charities.
