Dream Chaser has successfully completed a series of critical pre-flight tests at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, marking continued progress toward it's first free-flyer mission. As part of its rigorous testing campaign, Dream Chaser underwent Electromagnetic Interference and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMI/EMC) testing, as well as tow testing. During tow testing, the spacecraft was pulled at high speeds by a fifth generation Freightliner Cascadia truck. This process simulated key dynamics and validated autonomous navigation parameters essential for runway landing operations. Press Release: https://lnkd.in/eT_7xm8C

Dream Chaser’s first flight will be a free-flyer, demonstration mission, which is expected to prove the technology and deliver critical data to NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration. We believe this approach will provide us with the flexibility to address the nation’s most pressing national security space challenges, while continuing to advance Dream Chaser’s capabilities for NASA and commercial customers. Our team will be prioritizing first-flight readiness with Dream Chaser, targeting a launch in late 2026 to align with expected launch vehicle availability as we position Dream Chaser as a national asset available for future national security and defense demonstrations. Today, Sierra Space is proud to serve as the Implementation Partner for two customer payloads that just launched to the International Space Station on Northrop Grumman NG-23. Yuri Science Taxi – A facility supporting up to 38 life science experiments in microgravity, operating through 2026. LEOcloud Micro Datacenter – A first-of-its-kind cloud computing payload providing commercial and government cloud services from low Earth orbit. Our team guided both payloads through certification, safety, requirements, and mission readiness to ensure successful flight. We are honored to support Yuri and LEOcloud in advancing science and technology on the ISS.

The Power Station is our new production facility for manufacturing defense-hardened Surface Mount Technology (SMT) solar arrays with industry-leading power density, resiliency, and short production lead times. Utilizing SMT solar cells attached to Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), assembled with commercial pick-and-place technology, these high-efficiency multi-junction MWT “micro-cells” enable automated production, higher power densities, and faster lead times. This innovation supports both small- and large-scale deployable missions while offering superior performance compared to traditional solar panels. Full video: https://lnkd.in/eAqAAYgN
