Medicare has announced that the 2026 Part B Premiums will increase to $202.90/ month. This is a 9.6% YoY increase, more than 3X the average American's Social Security COLA increase. This means that 32% of the average American's annual cost of living adjustment for Social Security will be eaten up by an increase in healthcare costs. This enrollment season its clear that the American consumer is feeling the squeeze of increased healthcare costs. The IRS has announced higher retirement contribution limits for 2026. The annual limit for 401(k) plans will increase to $24,500, up from $23,500 in 2025. The IRA contribution limit will also rise to $7,500, up from $7,000. Catch-up contribution limits for individuals aged 50 and older will also increase slightly. These adjustments reflect inflation and are intended to help workers maintain their retirement savings power over time.
