TVHC is proud to recognize the success of our first Rising Leaders Cohort — a new training initiative designed to nurture leadership skills, spark inspiration, and support career growth across our organization. Hosted by Learning & Development Manager Fiona Cruz and Sr. Director of Integration Gina Hernandez, this program reflects our commitment to investing in staff development and building the next generation of TVHC leaders. Cohort 1 completed three sessions focused on leadership fundamentals, self-leadership, and leading others — with participants reporting major boosts in confidence and communication skills. A big congratulations to our first graduating cohort: Alma Pulido, Ashley Griffey, Cynthia Cerna, Edlyn Campos, Erica Piceno, Lupe Calderon, Jessica Briseno, Maria Soto, and Zaira Mora! 🎓 We can’t wait to see Cohort 2 and future groups continue to grow and lead the way at TVHC. #TVHC #LeadershipDevelopment #RisingLeaders #LearnItAllCulture #Teamwork #Growth

What a great moment! Professional development is at the heart of our values at TVHC. We couldn't be more proud to see our staff grow in their careers while bringing their passion for community care to life. #LearnItAll
Our founder, Vanessa Russell, had a full-circle moment while taking a family member to the dentist at Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center in San Leandro. She ran into Lewie, a graduate from our very first ITbiz Tech Academy cohort in 2018, who has been working at TVHC for the past seven years! What a proud moment to receive such great care from a center where our former students are flourishing! Thank you, Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center, and congratulations, Lewie! We’re so proud of you!

We were honored to welcome California State Senator Dr. Aisha Wahab to our clinic last week for an important conversation on the role community health centers play in delivering comprehensive, integrated care. From addressing homelessness and behavioral health needs to discussing strategies for funding, mental health partnerships, and outreach, Senator Wahab’s insights were invaluable. With Medicaid patients making up the vast majority of our patient community, her support is vital as we navigate funding challenges and continue providing high-quality care for all. Thank you, Senator Wahab, for your time, your guidance, and your commitment to strengthening community health. #ValueCHCs #Health4All #TVHC

Our first-ever WIC-Travaganza brought together over 300 families to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week and National Breastfeeding Month! Families enjoyed a full day of fun and resources, from our photo booth, face-painting, balloon-twisting, and kids’ story time to raffle prizes like bikes, scooters, wellness baskets, and more. Alongside these activities were our amazing tabling partners, who shared breastfeeding, family health, and parenting resources, making the event such a success. We could not have imagined a better way to celebrate the strength and commitment of our WIC families and the value of breastfeeding and early nutrition in setting a foundation for lifelong health. Thank you to our partners for helping us empower, support, and celebrate families in our community, including: Alameda County Public Health Department, Mujeres Unidas y Activas, First 5 Alameda County, Washington Health, , California WIC Association, BrightLife Kids, 4Cs of Alameda County, Fremont Bank, Hively, and Kidango. #WIC #WICTravaganza #NationalBreastfeedingMonth #WorldBreastfeedingWeek #TVHC #CommunityHealth

Continuing to celebrate National Heath Center Week today on Partner Appreciation Day. Our community health centers succeed in part through the collaborative relationships they have with other community organizations and even more importantly, through relationships with our elected officials. This week, our state partner, California Primary Care Association and Alameda County Senator Dr. Aisha Wahab visited our member #CHC Tiburcio Vasquez Health Center to learn more about their legislative priorities, their innovative ways of delivering care, and the accessible ways in which they provide care to all who walk through their doors. We thank the Senator for her continued support and look forward to many more opportunities to share the ways in which in we can continue to work together. #ValueCHCs #NHCW25 #Health4All
