  • 80 cheers for 80 wonderful years! 🏀 Do you remember John Lentz from his years of wowing the crowds as an all-star Cedar at Lebanon High School? He turned 80 in October – and returned to the school district of his alma mater to celebrate by making 80 foul shots. John never lost sight of his love for the game and the importance of his health, and with the help of his WellSpan care team, he took to the court to celebrate in a way only he could. But he didn’t know he’d be arriving to the gym to find his family, friends, students from the school and local media – all ready to cheer him on. Read his story: https://lnkd.in/exQ4mVE2

  • Thoracic outlet syndrome is a rare condition that compresses nerves and blood vessels between the collarbone and the first rib. For student athlete, Nicole Hasis, this meant persistent pain that became increasingly unbearable. When Nicole underwent surgery and began to work on her recovery, her WellSpan athletic trainer, Chip, was there every step of the way. “The role of an athletic trainer is not always about the medical side of things. It is also one of support,” Chip says. “The kids see me every day and, as athletic trainers, we are there to reassure them that someone is here to help you if you need it.” We’re cheering Nicole on as she dives into her senior season! 👏 Read her story: https://lnkd.in/ewGAD_xH

  • Dr. Vincent Barnhart’s military service has helped to shape his career as a family medicine physician – keeping service to others, loyalty, duty, respect, courage, honor and integrity at the core of all he does. On Oct. 8, Dr. Barnhart left his Greencastle, Pa. WellSpan office to find himself helping administer first aid to two wounded Pennsylvania State Troopers following a shooting nearby. His story exemplifies the unique skills, perspectives and values brought to WellSpan by our more than 750 team members who have served or are serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. On this Veterans Day and every day, we thank you for your service and the personalized, compassionate care you deliver to the people we serve. Help us honor these team members with kind words of appreciation in the comment section. Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/egfqqXFz
