It was fantastic to be in Midlothian, Texas, today to announce a significant expansion of our commitment to the Lone Star State. AI is poised to accelerate a new golden age of American innovation, and Texas — with its optimism and talent — is leading the way. To power this progress, we must invest in world-leading infrastructure and the people who build it. That's why we are investing more than $40 billion in Texas through 2027 to expand our Cloud and AI infrastructure. This includes: 👉 New Data Centers: We are planning three new data center campuses in Armstrong and Haskell Counties and expanding our existing data center campuses in Ellis County, which will power the next generation of Search, Maps, and AI services. 👉 Energy & Affordability: Major investment to strengthen energy resilience and abundance, as well as supporting community energy efficiency initiatives through a new $30 million Energy Impact Fund. 👉 Workforce Development: With funding from Google.org, the electrical training ALLIANCE will train existing electrical workers and more than 1,700 apprentices by 2030. We've proudly called Texas home for over 15 years, from our offices and existing data centers, to Waymo in Austin, to Wing deliveries in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Thank you to Governor Greg Abbott for your partnership to drive economic development and innovation -- we look forward to Texas being a vital engine that powers the opportunities AI will create for years to come.

If you’ve ever received a text for a fishy "unpaid toll" fee, then I’ve got some good news: We just filed suit against a cybercriminal group notorious for launching these types of large-scale phishing attacks. But fighting these criminals takes more than just lawsuits. That’s why we’re endorsing several bipartisan bills designed to protect everyone from this kind of fraud. Our General Counsel Halimah DeLaine Prado breaks it all down. 🔽

Today, we are taking significant action against a global phishing-as-a-service operation known as Lighthouse. Our lawsuit targets the malicious actors behind this service, aiming to dismantle its core infrastructure, which has defrauded and stolen from millions through fake package and toll texts. But we’re not stopping there. In addition to taking legal action to combat one operation, we are also endorsing bipartisan legislation that can help empower law enforcement to fight scams like these more broadly. By combining the full force of the law, technical innovation, and public policy advocacy, we can help keep people safe online.

To unlock the next generation of personal AI, we must leverage our most capable models. Private AI Compute is the bridge that makes this possible for sensitive use cases. It allows Google AI experiences to use advanced Gemini models in the cloud, while maintaining the same privacy assurances as on-device processing. This is one more tool we have to help scale our most helpful AI, responsibly. This advancement is the result of a collaboration across Google DeepMind, Google Cloud, Google Research, and numerous AI and security teams across Google. Congratulations to all of the teams that have made this possible! Read more in our latest blog: https://lnkd.in/gfAWXpAW

We’re helping get people where they’re going faster all across Boston with Google's Project Green Light. Project Green Light uses artificial intelligence and Google Maps driving trends to model traffic patterns and help our teams optimize road traffic flow. Since 2024, the City's Innovation and Technology and the Streets cabinets have implemented changes in almost every neighborhood in Boston, helping us improve over 100 intersections. These optimizations do more than just improve commutes—they’re saving Boston drivers an average of 4,000 gallons of gas per intersection over the course of the year, and helping reduce carbon emissions. A huge thank you to Google Research, our Streets Cabinet, Boston’s Traffic Management Center, and our Office of Emerging Technology for this work. We’re excited to keep innovating, reducing traffic, and improving how people get around Boston. #Boston #Google #ProjectGreenLight #GoogleResearch #BostonStreets #BostonTraffic #AI #Traffic #EmissionsReduction
