angular-cli 6 ng build --prod no minify or uglify

Hi. Using angular-cli 6
ng build --prod
does no minify or uglify

test also with

ng build --target=production --environment=prod
ng build --prod --env=prod

same problem,

Site note: My js bundles are minified/uglified, but I noticed that my index.html is no longer minifed (whitespace removed) during prod builds.

ng no longer accepts --env ... instead use configuration

ng build --target=production --configuration=prod
ng build --prod --configuration=prod

Can someone confirm what the --prod flag is doing?

I want to target a configuration of X but with everything else identical to the prod buid (e.g. AOT) but using the X environment file. The ng build documentation does not go into detail what --prod does.

e.g.
ng build --configuration test --aot --build-optimizer

--prod is shorthand for and equivalent of --configuration=production.

Ok, thanks, but I thought that targeting prod was also implicitly setting some build flags for optimal optimisation.

So say I want to build an exact mirror of Prod, but pointing at a Test configuration file which has Prod = true and the test api; maybe something like this?

ng build --configuration test --aot --build-optimizer

As of July 12, 2018 I am still having the issue of my bundles not minified/uglified with a configuration defined for production.

NOPE: I was wrong. The way Chrome browser on Mac was auto formatting my code lead me to think this, but upon closer examination I realize the code was in fact minified/uglified ising the --prod switch at build time. I'd suggest closing this issue as resolved.
