I wanted know how to get get surrounding method in Java source file for a given line number. I found a solution here in stackoverflow in the following link:

My problem with this solution is that I am developing a plugin project. When I try to use this solution I get the following error exception:

Browsing the Internet I think the issue is caused by the fact that in a plugin project there are more than one ClassLoaders and cannot cast this:

JavacTask javacTask = (JavacTask) task;

I have tried everything and I have not more ideas, could anybody give me any help?

I am facing the exact same problem but not as a plugin but as an ant task. you are right- this is a classloader problem. What worked for me is using the 'fork' attribute in ant. so the solution for you would be similar- open an external process. Yuck!
