Providing an open door for lives shaped by trauma and disadvantage.
About us
Homeless Oxfordshire provides an open door for lives shaped by trauma and disadvantage, offering safety and stability when it's needed most. Our support helps people experiencing homelessness to rebuild their lives. We are Oxfordshire’s largest not-for-profit provider of accommodation for people experiencing homelessness, with projects across the county offering a range of housing to suit the different needs and stages of our residents’ experience of homelessness. Our residents are mothers, brothers, aunties, cousins. They are artists, cooks, teachers, veterans. Everyone’s route into homelessness is unique, usually with many different contributing factors. That’s why we treat every person’s case individually, ensuring they have access to the tailored support they need; whether that’s healthcare, support overcoming addiction, psychologically-informed therapy, or accessing the financial benefits they are entitled to. Our skilled and highly trained support workers, many of whom have lived experience of homelessness themselves, form trusting relationships with service users and walk alongside them every step of the way on their journey through homelessness, for as long as it takes.

The way you communicate with your supporters, friends, clients and suppliers really matters. The smallest things can have a massive impact. Just over a month ago I ran the Oxford Half for Homeless Oxfordshire and yesterday this letter arrived in the post, accompanied by a few tea bags. I took a moment to have a good read and it dawned on me that this was such a brilliant way of keeping in contact with me and saying thanks. I don’t need a thanks, I ran so that I can support this excellent charity, but this letter really was a great move. Well done Sarah Taylor and everyone at Homeless Oxfordshire. Shall we do it again next year? 🏃 Thanks again, I’m going to get the kettle on this week and enjoy a cuppa! #connection #charity #engagement

At yesterday’s art therapy workshop with Victoria Kearney, papier-mâché bat bunting became a symbol of change, reflection and rediscovery🦇🎃 During the session, one resident reflected on her past travels and another contemplated an upcoming move 👣 One found calm creating alone, and another talked about the art he used to make and the work he'd lost but plans to recreate one day🎨 Here at Homeless Oxfordshire, even Halloween reminds us that hope can still be found in the shadows✨ #ArtTherapy #HomelessnessAwareness #HomelessOxfordshire #OxfordshireCharity #Halloween #SpookySeason

📣 Our #HerWayHome Ambassador Amber Hughes is here to share some huge news about the appeal... We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we have purchased a new eight-bed property for our Women’s Project!! 🔑 This simply wouldn’t have been possible without an incredibly generous legacy gift and the kindness of every individual, business and community group that has already donated to our Her Way Home appeal🙏 Purchasing this property is a major milestone in our mission to bring safe housing, healing and hope to more women who are experiencing homelessness in Oxfordshire. But – it is just the first step. All donations to the Her Way Home appeal will now go towards: 🏠 Renovations and refurbishments to make the house warm and welcoming ready for eight new residents to move in. 🧡 Delivering holistic support that will empower women to move forward with dignity, confidence and hope. If you think you can help, please get in touch with our Fundraising team or head to our website to find out more and make a donation.
