Some journals have changes ISSN over time, for instance the JAMA ones (JAMA pediatrics, JAMA dermatology and so on).

As another example, take Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and General, whose website says that since 2007 it became Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical.

Is there a repository, a spreadsheet somehere that keep tracks of these changes?

I need that because I have a dataset of publications and I need to update it with the most recent journal ISSN.

  • Is there a database of journal name changes and splits? If so, that could form the basis for a two-step process because you can look up the ISSN corresponding to a given journal name (see, e.g., this answer of mine). Commented Jun 26 at 22:10
