I am getting the following error when trying to run a WPF based application on windows XP runs fine on windows 7.

  • dwmapi.dll copy in your project and add Reference to same project. Commented Oct 9, 2012 at 5:18

The desktop window manager was introduced in Vista, which is almost certainly why you're unable to load it in XP.

Its strange that a .net Library that it was using have a dependence of DWM.
