HTTP Error 405 when uploading an image using uploadify

Question

I'm trying to create an uploading control in MVC3.

At first i've tried with javascript and HTML5 to create upload control, but that doesn't work with any of the IE versions. So,i've move to this flash version of uploadify.

I'm getting HTTP Error: 405 when uploading

Here is my code in javascript for uploadify

405 is method not allowed iirc, perhaps the app pool doesn't have permissions or maybe the upload method isn't supported, is it using put or post? — Slicksim

i'm not running my app on IIS. it is running on asp.net development server, it is using post method — Karthik Chintala

Have you iisexpress installed? might be worth running it through that to see if it is a limitation on the dev envs web server. — Slicksim

If you view the project properties, look at the web tab and turn on IISExpress and try it again. Have you tried using fiddler to track the request and response? — Slicksim

I've solve my problem finally. Its the uploader that troubled me.

the uploader should be the action of the controller in mvc.

Here is the solution:

$(function () {
        $('#file_upload').uploadify({
            debug:true,
            'swf': '/Content/uploadify/uploadify.swf',
            'uploader': '/Home/Uploadify',
