Question

I'm working with CentOS 6.5

When I'm executing this php -v

I'm getting the below message:

As it seems to be a memcached error, when I'm trying this

yum install memcached.x86_64 php-pecl-memcache.x86_64

I'm getting below mentioned errors:

 You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
 You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

You have installed php from "remi" repository which is not enabled by default. So you need to enable it to install additional PHP extension, with correct ABI compatibility.

yum --enablerepo=remi install php-pecl-memcache

What if I don't want the php installation from remi, instead I would like to have that from base, any suggestion on that.

You already have php 5.4 from "remi" repo, so if you want only base packages, you have to downgrade to 5.3.3.
