The Razor syntax in my Asp.NET MVC (5?) view is highlighting errors under each @Html item as well as @model and ViewBag. See the screenshot below:

Here are the entries in my Web.config in the View folder:

  • Other than the Intellisense warnings does it actually work? Was this solution updated from an older version of the framework or Visual Studio? Commented Jun 4, 2016 at 21:18
  • It does actually run. It's a new solution. I'm running Visual Studio 2012. I have run the following: "ASP.NET and Web Tools 2013.1 for Visual Studio 2012" Commented Jun 4, 2016 at 21:21
  • I had this problem with a project and closed Visual Studio. Then deleted the 'packages', 'bin' and 'obj' folders. And the started VS and made a full compile. The clean didn't work for me. I hope this helps. Of course, before delete nothing, do a backup. :-) Commented Jun 4, 2016 at 21:25
  • Have you tried a NuGet package update? It looks like you have assembly references for different MVC versions. I had similar problems when I updated a solution. I created a new empty project and tried to match up the config files -- but I was working with an updated VS2013. Commented Jun 4, 2016 at 21:27

You have mismatched MVC version numbers in your /Views/Web.config file:

<host factoryType="System.Web.Mvc.MvcWebRazorHostFactory, System.Web.Mvc, Version=5.2.3.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35" />

and

    <pages
    validateRequest="false"
    pageParserFilterType="System.Web.Mvc.ViewTypeParserFilter, System.Web.Mvc, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"
    pageBaseType="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage, System.Web.Mvc, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"
    userControlBaseType="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl, System.Web.Mvc, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35">
  <controls>
    <add assembly="System.Web.Mvc, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35" namespace="System.Web.Mvc" tagPrefix="mvc" />
  </controls>
 </pages>

As seems to be the case by the rest of your configuration, you need to use MVC 5.2.3. You need to update that last bit to

<pages
    validateRequest="false"
    pageParserFilterType="System.Web.Mvc.ViewTypeParserFilter, System.Web.Mvc, Version=5.2.3.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"
    pageBaseType="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage, System.Web.Mvc, Version=5.2.3.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"
    userControlBaseType="System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl, System.Web.Mvc, Version=5.2.3.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35">
  <controls>
    <add assembly="System.Web.Mvc, Version=5.2.3.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35" namespace="System.Web.Mvc" tagPrefix="mvc" />
  </controls>
 </pages>

This was very close, but I also needed to update the webpage:Version: <add key="webpages:Version" value="3.0.0.0" />
