I am trying to create an angular 2 application using a SPA template for .Net Core. To install the template, I used the command

dotnet new --install Microsoft.AspNetCore.SpaTemplates::*

Once the installation was complete, I ran

dotnet new angular

That created a new AngularJS project for me. I opened the new project in Visual Studio 2017 Community Edition using the .csproj file. I then ran the application without debugging(Ctrl+F5).
I got the following error

Can someone please help me figure this out? I'm trying to get a simple hello world application to work but I'm stuck with this.

According to this initial source of exception:

Microsoft.AspNetCore.NodeServices.NodeServicesImpl.<InvokeExportWithPossibleRetryAsync>d__10`1.MoveNext()<---

it looks like you don't have a node being started or working properly. It tries to do something with InvokeExportWithPossibleRetryAsync, so it maybe a startup issue. Did you check your node status? A restart may be required.

I am trying to run this locally and I've restarted my machine after installing Node.js. I'm able to run other Node.js applications from the console.
The exception message states that it can't establish the connection. It's either a network problem or node.js starting problem
It does seem like that. I am unable to diagnose the problem, which is making it difficult to find a solution! Is there any way that I can verify/confirm that it is an issue with Node.js and solve it?
I suggest you to ask a question on github: github.com/aspnet/javascriptservices They probably would be able to help
Thanks. I've done that. If I manage to get an answer for it, I'll post here.
