Android- Adding subrows to a ListView!

Question

ive been attempting to add subrows to a listview. I have a taxi app which at present shows a list of taxi company names, i want to be able to add some sub rows in which show address, postcode etc.

I have had some attempts at this but none have been successful. I am calling my strings from an array in the strings.xml file. My code at the moment is :

        lv.setOnItemClickListener(new OnItemClickListener() {
        public void onItemClick(AdapterView<?> a, View v, final int position, long id)
       {

            AlertDialog.Builder adb=new AlertDialog.Builder(ListTaxi.this); 
             adb.setTitle("Taxi Booking");
             adb.setMessage("You Have Selected: "+lv.getItemAtPosition(position));

If anyone can help me get round this problem it would be very much appreciated.

Okay, just for kicks, I threw this together. It compiles and functions correctly, see if you can adapt it for your particular needs:

Typo on my part. :) fixed now, should have been taxi_list_item. Pasted some code from another project of mine.

sorry to be a pain but it doesnt run after ive built it. says then an error when i load it up? source not found when i run it in debug mode. any chance you can export as a jar and allow me access to it somewhere?

That wouldn't help you. What is the error? Try pressing Ctrl+Shift+O in the java file to make sure all the imports are there, and make sure you change the package to match your own. To find the error, Window > Show View > Problems, or go to your debug perspective and view LogCat.

found the error. for some reason android manifest hadnt changed. looks perfect mate! i assume i can change the layout of this by changing the main.xml file?

That'll change the main view, to change the actual layout of the list items, modify taxi_list_item.xml. glad it's working!
