Json parsing error: type org.json.JSONArray cannot be converted to JSONObject

Question

The JSON is simple as,

[{"kw":"48.90","kva":"51.20","pf":"-0.96"}]

The error I get is,

Please change the code in GetContacts.doInBackground from

JSONObject jsonObj = new JSONObject(jsonStr);
// Getting JSON Array node
JSONArray contacts = jsonObj.getJSONArray("contacts");

to

JSONArray contacts = new JSONArray(jsonStr);

As the message says, you're trying to cast a JSON array into a JSON object. Your JSON is an array...
