I am trying to convert my JSON data to an array & then display the count of records from tje JSON data.

I have decoded the JSON data, but I can't get a count of the records. The data:

    It's not clear what you want. What records do you want to count? I assume you're working in PHP and have used json_decode() to convert your JSON string to an array? Commented Oct 4, 2011 at 8:05

  • Do you by any chance actually have objects in the decoded var? json_decode ( string $json [, bool $assoc = false [, int $depth = 512 [, int $options = 0 ]]] ) As you can see, the $assoc param is false by default...try using json_decode ($jsonStr,true); Commented Oct 4, 2011 at 8:37

You can get the count of any array by using the count function.

You can access any sub-array by using it's array keys.

$records = $array['http://apps.facebook.com/moviecornpopcorn/index.php/ratemovie/comments?movieid=513']['data'];
$count = count($records);

Thank You..It Worked..I have Used for each & displayed the count of records

pretty nasty array key you have there :) so get the current element (with url as array key) values and count the values of it

<?php $data = current($yourarray); $dataCount = count($data); ?>
